Performing at RAW Seattle was such an amazing experience. I was so happy to share my new music with everyone that showed up, and performed an acoustic version of “Unbreakable”, which really meant a lot to me. It was such a memorable event because I got to share my stories behind the songs as I was introducing them, which felt terrifying and exhilarating at the same time, and I was looking into the faces of the people in the audience as I was talking and felt such a great connection with people. It was also a major milestone for me because I wanted to be the only one on stage. That was so important to me to get up there and feel that raw exposure as I performed and engaged with the audience, I didn’t want to feel like I was hiding behind something. The songs I chose to sing and the order I played them was also part of a story I wanted to share, as I opened with “Instigator”, an older song I had written and I moved into my new material, “Wasted On You”, “Unbreakable”, “Remedy” and closing the show with an acoustic intro to “Better Than That” which moved right into the upbeat dance version that people are familiar with. I wanted to take the audience with me through the story arc of the songs and I wanted to leave them dancing and hopefully remember that they had a good time.
